Shamil Sohail2019-2021 Ambassador
Friends of We Care would like to welcome and introduce 11-year old Shamil Sohail as our new Ambassador. Shamil was born with Spina Bifida and had his first surgery when he was just six hours old. That was followed by several neurosurgeries before his first birthday. Shamil uses a power wheelchair for mobility.
It’s always full speed ahead for Shamil who plays wheelchair basketball for the Cruisers, loves to participate in drama class, and has even voiced a radio ad for Easter Seals. His teachers call him a chatterbox and his favourite subjects are history and geography. He says he’s “allergic” to mathematics.
Shamil lives with his older brother Shameer, father Sohail and mother Lubna in Mississauga. He is a big fan of Terry Fox and loves Terry’s message “I just wish people would realize that anything’s possible if you try; dreams are made possible if you try.”
